«“The Punky Universe” by Patrick Rougereau
“The Punky Universe” by Patrick Rougereau
A magnetic and captivating presence, The Punky Universe by the artist awarded the Order of Arts and Letters invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world apart. From the hotel lobby to the rooftop, bronze, crystal, and aluminium sculptures unfold within a dreamlike mise en scène. Born from the imagination of Patrick Rougereau, these works extend a photographic practice renowned for its aesthetic strength and subtlety. Near the entrance to the Spa by Clarins, the photograph Fondre de plaisir evokes indulgence and sensuality. In the same spirit, Porte aiguilles is displayed at the entrance to the meeting rooms.
Among the emblematic pieces, Tribu features thirty-six miniature fish, suspended in a light and silent choreography, followed by Punky Fish, a crystal sculptural version that captures the light with great delicacy. As a backdrop, the photographic triptych Punky Fish unfolds its vibrant universe.
On the rooftop of the Les Toits restaurant, a silver aluminium Punky Fish reflects the daylight with brilliance. Its contemporary, almost liquid silhouette engages in dialogue with the horizon, extending the artistic momentum to the very summit of the hotel. A little further on, in the bay view area of the restaurant, the photograph Butterfly appears in echo, capturing the ever-changing reflections of the water. An artistic pause that prolongs the moment, suspended between movement and serenity.
On the occasion of the event Les Chefs à Saint Tropez fêtent les producteurs, Victoire and Saint Honoré, two previously unseen bronze works, pay tribute to the world of gastronomy. Patrick Rougereau celebrates French culinary craftsmanship through a balance of visual audacity and symbolic nuance.
A singular exhibition, where art flirts with design, between sky and sea.
The exhibition “The Punky Universe” is on view until 12 October at the Hôtel de Paris Saint Tropez.
Iconic Trees of Life by Andrea Roggi
At the entrance to the Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez, a silhouette – Andrea Roggi’s work “Amore Divino” – stretches skywards, exalting the façade with its light, delicate forms. This Italian artist transforms dense matter into airy beauty. He has the rare ability to lend bronze the illusion of movement and fluidity. The tree – the core motif of his work – evokes nature, roots and elevation. Inspired by the ancient olive trees surrounding his studio in Tuscany, Roggi has transformed it into universal symbol of connection and growth.
From the first sketch to the final cast, the artist crafts each piece at his studio, “La Scultura di Andrea Roggi”. His dynamic casting technique, which he developed himself based on the traditional lost-wax method, allows him to play with positive and negative space, and light and dark, with a quasi-organic precision. “Amore Divino” is the perfect example of this: it is a work that is powerful yet instilled with delicacy, as if suspended between earth and sky. The astonishing duo “Una Nuova Vita Insieme – Yin & Yang”, shown in the hotel lobby, epitomizes Andrea Roggi’s continued quest for balance. Two silhouettes rise up as one, united in a circular movement symbolizing harmony and rebirth.
Our Spa by Clarins and restaurant-lounge bar Les Toits are open every day to both hotel guests and visitors. A wonderful opportunity to discover these magnificent works by Patrick Rougereau and Andrea Roggi.
